Abu Dhabi University is organizing The Second United Arab Emirates Undergraduate Student Research Competition (UGSRC)
On the 22nd of May, 2014
The Abu Dhabi University “Step Up Shabab” initiative aims to expand career and life-enhancing learning and innovation opportunities for young people from the expansion of opportunities for non-formal and informal learning and from strengthened provisions for the recognition and validation of such learning within national qualifications frameworks. It also aims to expand the interest and potential of young people to become entrepreneurs by fostering entrepreneurial mindsets and attitudes in education, research, innovation and training.
One step in this direction is the organization of the Second UAE Undergraduate Student Research Competition, which aims to recognize and promote outstanding student research being conducted at the academic institutions in the UAE and provide students with the experience of presenting their results in a nationwide competition. The competition will be held in Abu Dhabi University on May 22nd, 2014.
Students’ presentations in the one-day symposium will be judged by a Scientific Committee with members from academia and industry, and winners will be announced in the closing session of the competition. The awards will help the research endeavors of undergraduate students at their own Universities and will strengthen their critical and analytical thinking skills. It will enhance students’ confidence in their research abilities, explore new frontiers in their fields of study and will prepare them for graduate level studies.
Competition Scope and Topics
Basic and applied research projects of high quality in the following mentioned fields are solicited particularly in new and emerging technologies. The competition emphasizes original research projects in:
